Large hoop That is not Majestic,
Embroidery  Unit . Embroidery machine, Stablizer Large piece of fabric at least 15 x 15  inches, You will need your 200 x 200 mm hoop  wide 1 Spool of thread. glue stick and pins,  I know this is a software class but we do not know how to use the wizard to split our projects and then stitch them.  so we will split and Stitch.

Diamond D Club Dates for 2012

This Club has gotten a New Nick Name the "Double D's" Or DD (Becarful Who You say that to Our Husbands my get the wrong Idea!

Everyone is invited to this club if they have a Viking Husqvarna Designer Series Machine or the 3D, 4D, or 5D Software.  We have retreats 3 Times a year! We play we eat, We have a lot of fun!

Straight Stitch Needle plate....

Straight Stitch Needle Plate…..

I was having a problem the other day with my Machine, It was breaking my thread every couple of minutes. I was even doing redwork. I was stitching on light weight fabric with tear away stabilizer.  I changed my needle about 4 times. I finally had a metallic needle in there. I was ready to throw my Machine across the room. I was using Rayon Variegated thread.  But my Thread kept breaking………. Out of desperation I put on my Straight Stitch needle plate.  My thread only broke once during the rest of the 9 Redwork designs I was doing. … I tried to find out anything about this straight stitch needle plate there is no information on the web about it. The best I can figure we have these massive machines and the bobbin case jumps and breaks the tread. Whit the Straight stitch needle plate on. It cannot jump.  You ask Viking, They always recommend using your straight Stitch needle plate.

So my recommendations not Vikings, if your thread breaks,

1.      Straight stitch needle plate

2.      Change your needle

3.      Slow your speed down

So anyone brining their straight stitch needle plate to the retreat or their receipt for it gets an extra prize!

I am using my Straight stitch needle plate for all my future embroideries especially on fine fabrics!

Sewing Machine Class

4:00 pm  Make a mouse pin cushion in the hoop
               Please bring  1/4 yard of Sherpa, Fleece or Felt, anything that does not fray,
                                     3 black shank buttons for the nose & Eyes
                                     6 colors of Machine embroidery thread
                                             at least four of them should be green, dark pink, Med Pink, light Pink,
                                      cording for a tail
                                       small 4x4 hoop or the smallest hoop you have and a 150 x 150  hoop
                                       tear away stabilizer
                                       hand sewing needle and stuffing to stuff your mouse with & Sewing thread.

Those of you who went to the first retreat we had with Connie Palmer & Jodie got a free gift of this mouse. Wendy has lost the design so I did it again I want to teach it to all of you!!!!!!!  if you do not want to digitize it yourself  You still get the design.

3:00 pm Stitching out a large redwork Design that is about 32 x 32 inches
                           Please bring tearaway stabilizer
                           Please Bring a large piece of cotton or muslin fabric at least 1 yard
                           Please Bring  Thread. 

Software Class
6:30 pm  Helpful Software: Not by Viking Backing up your data and Getting Free clip art on the web carbonite & Mosey We will also go over Sew Iconizer (To show thumbnails of your embroidery designs)

8:00  open question time anything related to  out software and machines.
